Osnovana je 1970. g., a svoje korijene vuče iz muzičke škole pri Narodnom sveučilištu osnovane 1962. g. Školu je tada pohađalo 140 učenika koji su mogli učiti klavir, harmoniku, gitaru i solfeggio, a u sklopu škole djelovali su zborovi i orkestri.

U siječnju 2014. godine Glazbena škola Požega je uselila u novi dom, u najsuvremeniju zgradu u kojoj učenici imaju uvjete u kojima će dosadašnje izvrsne i nagrađivane rezultate moći još bolje postizati.

O njihovom uspjehu svjedoči i Big Band Požega, najmlađi takav orkestar u Hrvatskoj, koji je u svojem dosadašnjem djelovanju ostvario zavidne rezultate. Sastoji se od 18 mladih glazbenika, odabranih iz gradske glazbe ’’Trenkovi panduri’’, te iz Glazbene škole Požega.

It was founded in 1970 and its roots are from the music school at the National University founded in 1962. The school was then attended by 140 students who could learn piano, accordion, guitar and solfeggio, and the choir and orchestras were part of the school.

In January 2014, the Požega School of Music moved into a new home, a state-of-the-art building where students have the conditions in which they can achieve even better and more rewarding results.

The Big Band Požega, the youngest such orchestra in Croatia, also testifies to their success. It is made up of 18 young musicians, selected from the town music "Trenk's Pandurs" and from the Požega School of Music.
